About Maureen                               

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) with extensive training and experience in a number of areas. My specialties include working with couples - including parenting, children, and individuals of all ages struggling with the lingering effects of troubling memories due to difficult or traumatic experiences - even anxiety or depression. I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge and my Master's degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Phillip’s Graduate Institute in Encino. I have worked as a therapist, counseling children, families, couples and individuals for over 9 years. My work in the local communities supporting parents, families and children spans over 25 years.

I co-founded the Simi Valley support group ‘ADD-SOS’ for individuals and families struggling with ADHD and was a board member for the national organization, CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder). 

My diverse background and clinical training includes working as a school-based counselor addressing the psycho-social and emotional needs of children and adolescents and working with families advocating for their child's individual needs in the school setting.

Simi Valley has been my home for over 37 years where my husband and I settled to build our lives and raise our family.

I bring to my work a rich and diverse palette of life experience, advanced education and training serving to deepen my understanding and ablility to help my clients through their struggles. Beyond the fullfillment I get with my work, I enjoy hobbies that connect me with nature including photography, hiking, gardening and camping.
